When All Else Fails; Big Toe Care; And Patrick McKeown On Mouth Breathing
Progress isn’t always enough.
For me, it’s books. And movies. Books and movies.
I like to imagine myself as the protagonist, going toe-to-toe with The Predator, Agent Smith, or The Kid in The Giving Tree (I hate that kid).
It’s silly, I know. But it helps.
When I don’t want to get up, when I’m struggling to put my head down and just do work, when it seems like I’m not making any progress, I imagine myself in the third act. I’m struggling and about to give up. But I know if I can just hang on a little longer, if I can just do one more rep, eat one more healthy meal, walk just a few more steps, I’ll reach my goal.
Then tomorrow, I do it all over again.
But that’s how I do it. What do you do?
Do you picture yourself aging poorly, a fate you refuse for yourself.
Or maybe you imagine your grandkids, and it means everything to you to be there with them, on the ground…
