Eating right is hard work.

Most days, I’d rather dive into Lucky Charms and pizza with that super crumply sausage. And donuts, lots and lots of donuts.

But I don’t. And it’s not because I’m special, built differently, or have willpower in reserve. It’s because I stack the deck.

Let me explain.

Whenever I crave something that isn’t in line with the person I want to be, I tell myself, “no.” I actually say “no” to the voices in my head. Then I say, “not an option.”

Even more important is that this isn’t the first step; it’s the last in a series of tactics I started yesterday. And the day before that. And the month before that.

Get it?

For me, it’s nearly impossible to survive without a plan, plump down at the end of a long day, and not binge on a mountain of chocolate chip cookies.
