Stop Trying To Make It Fit

Some food combinations completely wreck our self-control.

I want to swim in Oreos after drowning in a never-ending pizza buffet. And I want to wake up the following day looking like a bodybuilder about to go on stage.

But I can’t.

It’s not pizza’s fault. Pizza isn’t broken. It keeps right on being delicious bread and sauce despite my feelings or desires. And since it keeps me from reaching my goals, I avoid it almost all the time.

There are, of course, ways to include pizza and cookies and just about anything you can imagine on most meal plans.

But I’m just not that strong.

Regularly eating sugar, obscenely high fat, and ultra-palatable treats just makes me want more. Some foods are just like that. They trick our brains into addiction. Some of us more than others.

Some food combinations even completely wreck our self-control.

That’s why trying to include them in my diet just isn’t going to work.
