QP2 Quick Review: Does Motivation Matter? (SPOILERS)

So which is better? Knowing why you die, or not knowing but dying all the same?

Shoes are loud.

At least that’s the impression you get from watching ‘A Quiet Place II.’

That, and you can tell just how far a hero is along their journey based on how jacked-up and dirty their feet are.

Except for Cillian Murphy, who inexplicably sported work boots the entire flick and seemed to hide from aliens made of ears just fine. Still trying to figure that one out. In the silent apocalypse, do only the purists go barefoot, while the selfish pricks keep their kicks?

Speaking of Cillian Murphy. The beard, the wild eyes, the grime, terror, and evident agitation — all on point. Reminded me of ’28 Days.’

Beyond Murphy’s stellar performance, I enjoyed QP2’s tight run time and new family dynamic since losing their dad in the first one. But is it just me, or was half the film walking?

Either Emily Blunt was walking, her daughter and Murphy were walking, the entire family, or the aliens. Even the kid who got caught in a bear trap got his steps in for the day.

I have nothing against a good meander, of course. I love it, in fact. It’s healthy and…
