It doesn’t take much to talk ourselves out of doing difficult things.

Things like training after a long day at work, getting up before the sun to get steps in, and skipping donuts.

That’s why it’s essential to have a plan when the self-talk begins and we start making up stories to keep us in bed, watch Netflix instead of workout, and crush dessert.

It happens like this; the alarm blares, but instead of bolting upright to greet the day excitedly, we roll over and hit snooze. That’s when the stories start.

Thirty seconds later, and we’ve crafted a dozen reasonable arguments to sleep in.

This often goes against our goals, no matter how much sense we think we’re making. So next time, the moment the alarm goes off and the narrative shifts to snooze, CLAP!
