Start with the end in mind.

Who do you wanna be? How do you wanna perform, look, and feel?

If your aim is to maintain, multiply your body weight by 15. The result is your total daily calorie intake.

So if you weigh 100 pounds, you’d need 1,500 calories daily to maintain your current state.

It’s not exact, and there’s a good chance you’ll have to make changes. But it’s a start if you have yet to start.

Do the same thing if you want to lose weight, except go with 12 calories per pound of body weight and 18 calories if you want to gain.

Next, determine your protein intake — one gram per pound of body weight daily. And before you complain, argue, or straight up refuse, remember this is a general starting point. One gram of protein per pound of body weight is simply the number I’ve seen work best for…
