Meal Planning Made Easy Part 5

Wherever you land on the whole food scale debate, there’s one question that simplifies things.

We know the weight on the barbell.

There’s no chance we’d even consider taking any medication without knowing the dose.

And yet, when it comes to food — arguably one of the most potent drugs we have — many of us have no clue how much we eat.

Some even claim that weighing their food intake is just another eating disorder. Wherever you land on the whole food scale debate, there’s one question that simplifies things.

Are you happy where you are?

Does your body perform, look, and feel the way you want? If so, great. Keep doing what you’re doing. Even if that means avoiding the food scale.

But since most of us enjoy improvement, want to progress, and would love the chance to look, feel, and play better, we need to pay attention. And that starts with knowing what, and how much, we’re eating.

This week, don’t eat anything you don’t weigh and measure. Take your food scale to the restaurant if you have to. It’s not weird; it’s you holding yourself accountable to the person you want to become.

“Real generosity toward the future lies in giving all to the present.” — Albert Camus
