In part ONE of Meal Planning Made Easy, we talked about buying only food you must cook — no snacks or quick fixes.

We also challenged ourselves to a week of eating only food we prepare — no drive-thrus.

Today we’re adding to the experiment with two simple steps.

Enjoy Your Food

It’s easy to get so dialed into the process that we forget part of eating is enjoying our food.

Not necessarily everything, but each meal should have something you enjoy (probably not brownies and Luck Charms).

Be it broccoli, grilled chicken, or beef, the point isn’t struggling through meal times; it’s deciding on a menu you like that helps you reach your goals.

Eat Gut-Friendly Foods

This is sauerkraut. This is kimchi. This is ginger.

There are many other ingredients that make your gut happy. Because if it isn’t, you won’t have the energy to care.

So for this week:

-Buy only foods you have to cook.
-Eat only foods that you prepare.
-Enjoy something at every meal.
-Add ingredients that improve gut health.
