The trick is to keep the basics, the tried-and-true methods, front and center while introducing novel ideas to keep things interesting.

I suppose that’s the challenge with everything, but that’s beside the point — or the entire point. I’m not sure which.

Still, introducing a little novelty goes a long way.

That’s why our workouts change nature and structure frequently, why we twist basic ideas into something different and engaging, and why we always experiment. Not because results demand such novelty but because our minds crave it.
