Health Doesn’t Take Much: Couch-ish: And Heidegger On Freedom

In practice, this looks like a million tiny pauses each day.

There’s a question that precedes every action and defines every outcome: what am I willing to give?

Time? Money? Relationships? Identity?

Specific goals require specific sacrifices. Some goals even require the ultimate sacrifice.

Luckily, when it comes to health and fitness, it doesn’t take much.

Cut the ultra-processed food, move a lot, lift heavy things, and breathe hard four or five times a week, and you’re there.

In practice, this looks like a million tiny pauses each day. Brief, blink and you’ll miss them moments where we can ask ourselves, what am I willing to give?

Will I give four hours a week to feel the best I’ve ever felt?

Will I give a few moments to proper meal planning each day?

Will I give up scrolling and take a walk?

It seems simple because it is.

Couch-ish

Sometimes, the Couch Stretch is too aggressive. If so, watch the clip above and get to work.

Heidegger On Freedom

“If I take death into my life, acknowledge it, and face it squarely, I will free myself from the anxiety of death and the pettiness of life — and only then will I be free to become myself.” — Martin Heidegger
