Harnessing The Way And The Power Of The Fresh-Start Effect

The first time skateboarder Danny Way tried to jump the Great Wall of China, he crashed and fractured his ankle.

That evening, Way explained the situation to his Doctor. He said he was jumping again the next day and to make the ankle work.

By then, Way’s antics were well known. But this was extreme even for him. The slightest mistake could be the last mistake he’d ever make. And yet, Way persisted despite his fall.

That following day, Way climbed the massive ramp set before the wall you can see from space, broken ankle and all. The stairs attached to the ramp took so long to climb that Way could’ve easily talked himself down. But he didn’t. He made it to the top, felt the mountaintop wind, peered into the abyss, and pushed off.
