Effort Is The Answer

Fitness doesn’t end because we can’t do what we once could. It transforms alongside us.

I like to imagine Cain and the adventures he might have walking the earth for all time; the First Man cursed for committing the first murder.

Sometimes he’s a king, ruling like a tyrant.

Other times, he’s a painter with lifetimes of practice behind the brush.

And often, he’s a warrior. Because what could be better?

He doesn’t age. He just lives a life of constant progress; stronger, smarter, and more capable today than yesterday.

I like to imagine I’m him.

Not only because I love the story, but because who wouldn’t want an eternity of endless identity? If I were Cain, I could be a Samurai on Monday, an Olympic Skier on Wednesday, and The Pope on the weekend.

But I’m not, and neither are you. Unless you’re Cain and reading this right now. In which case, thanks!
