It’s important to define when easy is okay, even preferable.

The bandwagon of go-easy and go-home workouts has grown considerably over the years.

What used to be intensity at all costs has transformed into sensitivity at every corner.

And while I’m not trying to fan the flames of mediocrity, it’s important to define when easy is okay, even preferable.

Stress

First, let’s define easy. Take whatever you perceive as one hundred percent effort and knock that down to a quarter.

Now then, stress.

Work, kids, traffic, the holidays; all these and more wear on us like Bart Simpson’s overused piece of chalk.

If it’s one bad day, no problem — push it. Even a week is okay. But if what’s outside is chronically stressing everything inside, pull back. Go easy.
