Do It For The Doing Itself

Instead of focusing on what you hope to gain long-term, focus on this workout.

As far as I can tell, everyone struggles during the holidays.

That doesn’t mean everyone quits, just that things that once came easy — routines, habits, and even passions — seem more difficult.

It could be the increased time spent with friends and family, the abundance of sweet treats, or the weather. Perhaps all that and more.

The point is, if it hasn’t happened yet, it probably will. You’ll want to sleep in, skip a workout — or seven, and eat so many cookies you’ll burst. And then you’ll want to quit.

I bet you’re feeling The Holiday Resistance already. The pep in your step is gone. All those goals you made many months ago no longer seem so important. And all you can think about is dessert.

That’s fine. That’s common.

It would be nice to say ignore it. To push through the pain and blah, blah, blah. And if that works for you, good. But after decades of
