Dealing With December: How I stay Fit (Or At Least Don’t Fall Behind) During The Holidays

Preserve your workout time no matter what, and don’t feel guilty about the rest.

Think back to the first time your parents left you home alone.

Now maybe you’re a rule follower and did everything in your power to prove you were responsible. If so, good for you.

But if you were anything like me, it felt like whatever rules you were forced to follow suddenly evaporated.

I demolished every sweet treat, turned the TV up as loud as it would go, jumped on the bed, turned the couch into a fort, and put the recliner in front of the door so no one could come in. Then I called all my friends to brag.

Now that I’m slightly more mature, I can see how my behavior might be unsustainable. And yet, there’s one time a year that feels like being home alone for the first time.

December.
