Cows And Unicorns
Maybe the girl with the spectacular arms has a nagging knee thing she’s been dealing with for life.
A unicorn is rare. They stick out.
A cow is common. They blend in.
Everyone is a Unicorn at something. Painting, perhaps. Or music. Or fitness.
Conversely, every Unicorn is also a Cow.
Maybe the girl with the spectacular arms has a nagging knee thing she’s been dealing with for life. Maybe the guy with the perfect job and big house struggles with every human interaction.
We forget that when we focus our attention on others. When we compare.
“Comparison is the thief of joy.” — Theodore Roosevelt
That doesn’t mean we ignore the achievements of others. The opposite, in fact; we allow them to inspire us.
So maybe we can’t eat whatever we want and still have abs. So what. Join the herd. There’s still plenty left out there we can do. Potential we can either take advantage of or waste wallowing in self-pity.
Be humble when you’re the Unicorn, for it will pass.
Be proud when you’re the Cow, for it will also pass.
