5 Principles I Practice For A Better Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving doesn’t have to be stressful.
Thanksgiving doesn’t have to be the start of something you’ll regret. Thanksgiving doesn’t need to be a test of willpower. Thanksgiving doesn’t have to be stressful.
Someone needs to hear that. Everyone needs to believe it.
I tell that to myself every year. Repeat it to the athlete I coach — some more than others.
“You make it look so easy,” an athlete told me after I explained to her how I’d be managing Thanksgiving.
“Do I?,” I countered, wondering if Thanksgiving is something to be managed.
But that’s life, I suppose. At least my life. An effort to balance every feeling, thought, and behavior so one thing doesn’t bump too aggressively into another, throwing everything off.
That word balance doesn’t mean all things are equal, either. Not even close.
I’ve spent decades practicing fitness, nearly the same writing. Yet, I haven’t spent nearly that kind…
