3 Habits I’ve Been Doing For Decades That Keep Me Fit: Zorba Speaks: And Shoulder Love
The norm is precisely what I’m trying to avoid.
My friend called it a mental breakdown.
Looking back, he may have been onto something.
I’d thrown out all my furniture, installed spotlights in the living room so I could practice posing, and drawn a dozen or so timelines all over my wall. With a Sharpie.
But man, was I lean. And that’s what mattered.
To say I was struggling with my first physique competition diet is an understatement. I was drowning, eating far too few calories, training three hours a day, and sleeping two hours a night.
I didn’t know any better. I was too stubborn to ask for help.
To prove how tough I was, I had an unopened box of Lucky Charms on the fridge and untouched Girl Scout cookie ice cream in the freezer (Samoas because everything else is worthless). I looked at them both every day to prove that food had no hold over me.
