2 Simple Calf Exercises To Relieve Knee Pain

A little bit of extra care goes a long way.

Squatting isn’t enough.

Not when it comes to curing knee pain.

A squatting addiction, in fact, often causes knee dysfunction. Especially squatting badly. Unfortunately, not squatting enough is equally harmful.

The solution could be squatting better, and maybe that’s always the goal, no matter how spectacular the squat. But if that doesn’t work, try turning around.

The calf comprises two muscles called the gastrocnemius and the soleus. They meet at the Achilles tendon, which is attached to the heel.

In a sense, the calf is “always on,” doing its part to keep us bipedal agents pursuing our hopes and dreams. Often, the calf gets little to no specific care beyond the random calf raise here or standing straight leg stretch there.

This is excellent news. It means a little bit of extra care goes a long way. Especially when it comes to knee pain.

Watch the clip above and get to work. Even if your knees feel great. After all, “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” -Benjamin Franklin
