Somewhere in between lives Challenge. And just beyond that, progress.
We call it adaptation, and the idea is to push hard enough to get whatever results you crave without overreaching, overtraining, and getting hurt.
It’s a fine line, for sure. And often, we mumble things like, “it doesn’t really hurt,” along the way.
Things like that “trick” back, or “nagging” hip, or “hot” elbow.
Little things that we can totally push past and often forget in the heat of a workout. Until we can’t. Until we’ve ignored them for far too long, pushed too hard, and now they’re something we’re forced to address.
That doesn’t mean stop! It means shift.
Check your sleep, monitor your hydration, focus on food, and if those elbows got you down, watch the clip above and get to work.
